When Samsung unveiled Bixby on the Samsung Galaxy S8, they mentioned it would be for more than just phones. The first non-phone device to get Bixby is, of all things, a refrigerator. A sizeable update will add Bixby to the Family Hub 2.0 fridge, and future fridges will have it pre-installed.
It may sound weird to have Bixby on a fridge, but it actually makes a lot of sense. People put devices like the Amazon Echo and Google Home in their kitchens. Having Bixby in your kitchen is convenient. You can search for recipes, ask questions, and Bixby can even recall recipes based on your habits.
Would you buy a refrigerator if it had a virtual assistant?
