The Honor 9 may end up being unveiled on June 27th

We’re nearing the one-year mark since Huawei and Honor unveiled the Honor 8, which makes sense considering that we’re seeing more information leaked regarding the device’s successor. The Honor 9 has seen a leak or two over the past few weeks, but we haven’t really learned anything about when the device will be unveiled.

That all changed today when notorious leaker @rquandt shared what appears to be a press invitation for an event in Berlin on June 27th. There was a rumor making its rounds suggesting that the Honor 9 would actually be unveiled a week earlier, but there was no proper invitation to confirm the rumor.

As for what the Honor 9 is expected to bring to the market, we’re likely to see a dual rear camera setup here, along with a 20MP monochrome sensor and a regular 12MP sensor. We’re also expecting to see either 4GB or 6GB of RAM to be coupled with Huawei’s Kirin 960 SoC.

Finally, it’s likely that we’ll see Android 7.1.1 Nougat with EMUI 5.0 running on the Honor 9 out of the box. There also hasn’t been any mention of pricing for the device, but we can’t expect it to be much more than the $400 retail cost in the US.

With all the fanfare that surrounded the Honor 8, would you be interested in picking up the Honor 9 if it is launched in the US? Let us know in the comments below.
