We haven’t heard too much regarding the Moto Z2 Play, other than the fact that it’s likely to feature a different form factor than its predecessor. However, @rquandt was able to get ahold of a press image for the Z2 Play showing off the device in grey, along with 5 different Moto Mod style covers.

Previously, the only image that we saw of the Moto Z2 Play was of the device in its white and gold variant. This is the first time we’ve seen the Z2 Play in another color variant, but the design seems to ring true between the first leak and this one.
Other rumors regarding the Z2 Play include the smaller battery, which comes in at 3,000mAh versus the 3,510mAh battery found in the original Z Play. We are also expecting to see the Z2 Play powered by the Snapdragon 626 SoC along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.
On the bright side, Motorola and Lenovo are likely to keep the same 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display, with a resolution of 1920 x 1080. This is good because at least the smaller battery won’t drain as quickly as if the Z2 Play included a 2K display or something similar.
Let us know what you think about this latest leak and if you’re getting excited for the next iteration of Moto Z devices.
