Last Summer, there were many reports that Motorola and Lenovo would be moving away from the Moto X branding moniker in favor of the Moto Z flagship. However, we’ve seen numerous rumors regarding a resurgence of a Moto X device, which would launch sometime this year.
This latest leak actually shows off the device in some type of presentation, while giving us a quick glimpse at what the device will include. Most notably, the Moto X 2017 will not include the magnetic pins for the various Moto Mods which were introduced with the Moto Z lineup of devices.
However, the Moto X 2017 is seemingly not intended for the flagship market as the video shares the device will feature the following specs:
Some of the other features detailed in this leak also show that Motorola will be working on some type of AI integration with the Moto X 2017. It’s unknown, however, whether this will be something to do with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, or some proprietary service that we have yet to hear about.
I know this is going to be exciting for folks (including myself) who fell in love with the original Moto X back in the day. The only concern that I foresee is that it looks like Motorola and Lenovo are competing against themselves as the Moto X 2017 will likely take on the likes of the recently launched Moto G5 Plus.
Regardless, this informational video looks as legit as you can get, so we’ll hopefully learn more about the Moto X 2017 sooner rather than later. Let us know what you think about this leak and if you’ll be picking up the latest Moto X once it’s made available.
