We’re nearing the launch of the HTC U 11 and the company has taken to Twitter to continue teasing the device. This time around, HTC is claiming that you will be able to experience “360 real-life recording” while reaffirming the launch date for the U 11.

This teaser suggests that HTC will be including the ability to record videos in 360-degrees, which would be an interesting change compared to other devices. We already have accessories like the Samsung Gear 360 2017 which does this but is a separate product altogether. If HTC manages to put this functionality into its newest handset, it would already have a leg up on others.
What will be interesting to see will be how HTC plans to accomplish this feat, especially considering that recent renders show the device to only include a single rear camera sensor. There’s also an off-chance that HTC could release a separate device to accomplish this feature, similar to the Galaxy S8 and new Gear 360 camera.
The new HTC U 11 will be unveiled on May 16th, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled to Phandroid as more information regarding this device becomes available. In the meantime, let us know whether you would be interested in being able to shoot 360-degree videos from your smartphones.
