Netflix update adds HDR support for the LG G6

Back in March, Netflix said they would bring HDR streaming to smartphones and the LG G6 would be the first device. The latest update to the Netflix app finally adds that support. The APK for Netflix 5.0.1 is available right now and it adds HDR for the G6.

The G6 is certified by Dolby Vision, which is why it’s the only one supported at this time. The Samsung Galaxy S8 should eventually be able to do HDR streaming as well. In order to actually view HDR content, you will need the Netflix premium plan which allows 4K streaming.
