It’s awesome when carriers and retailers offer freebies for new devices, as was the case with the Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8 Plus, and others. However, the problem with purchasing a device through a carrier, you have to worry about dealing all the carrier bloatware while being tied to just one option.
Starting today, Samsung and Best Buy have opened up pre-orders for the Unlocked Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. Pricing starts at $724.99 for the smaller S8 and $824.99 for the Galaxy S8 Plus.
Samsung is also running a trade-in promotion for various devices, which will save you a few bucks on the cost:
- Samsung Galaxy Note 5 – $155
- Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge – $140
- Samsung Galaxy S6 – $120
- Samsung Galaxy S7 – $190
- Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge – $210
In addition to being able to save some money on the overall cost of your new, unlocked device, Samsung is still giving away the Galaxy Entertainment Kit. This kit includes 6 months of free Netflix, a 64GB Samsung Evo+ MicroSD card, and a Samsung Clear View Standing Cover case, all for free.
As for when you’ll actually receive your unlocked device, Samsung’s website states that if you pre-order the device by 5/24, you will receive the device by 5/30. This also includes free shipping, which is something you would expect with a device that costs upwards of $800.
