Samsung drops the price of the Gear S3 smartwatch to $299

Late last year, Samsung launched the Samsung Gear S3 Frontier and Gear S3 Classic. These smartwatches look to replace the Gear S2 lineup while offering an all-new design.

The problem with this smartwatch was its pricing as the Bluetooth variant started at $349. However, it seems Samsung has dropped the price down to just $299, and we are seeing other retailers such as Amazon and Best Buy do the same.

There has been no official word whether this is a permanent price drop, but if other retailers are following suit, then we would assume it is. Regardless, considering the fact that the Gear S3 works with any Android device, this would be a great buy for someone looking to get a reliable and sleek-looking smartwatch.

UPDATE: Samsung has reached out to inform everyone that this is just a temporary price drop, after which the Gear S3 will go back to its MSRP of $349.
