amazon echo look 2

Amazon Echo Look uses a camera to become your very own digital style consultant

Amazon has a new Echo device for us to behold, and it’s probably the last thing you’d ever expect from the company. This is the Amazon Echo Look, an Alexa-infused device through and through, albeit one with some very unique functionality for the style-conscious lot of you.

Step up to the Amazon Echo Look and show Alexa what you’re wearing. It uses its onboard depth-sensing camera with LED lighting to get a look at your outfit for the day from all angles.

You can take a photo or video of your outfit to share if you want, but if you think you could do with a wardrobe tweak you can use Style Check to get offered fashion advice from an AI-driven companion which draws its knowledge from actual fashion experts. Simply submit two photos to get an opinion on which outfit is better.

Alexa can even learn your style over time and suggest new clothes and brands to check out in case you want to flesh out your wardrobe. It’s like a mirror, only 10 times more useful as you won’t be left to your own indecisive ways when it comes to figuring out what you want to wear for the day.

And for anything else, it’s still an Alexa device. You can ask it to read the news and audiobooks, set alarms, get traffic and weather updates, control smart home devices, play music, and more, just like you could on any other Echo.

Unfortunately, Amazon is only offering these on an invite-only basis for now, but should you be lucky enough to be selected it’ll run you $199.99 to put one in your own home. Sign into Amazon’s site at the link ahead to request an invite to buy one.
