Pixel 2 may use Snapdragon 835

0

It’s no secret by now that the Snapdragon 835 will be the de facto chipset for any 2017 flagship. That’s why the revelation that the new Pixel phones said to be on the way may have it isn’t all too surprising.

References to the chipset were found in new AOSP code commits through its model number of MSM8996. The commits were code changes targeting “Muskie,” “Walleye,” and “Taimen,” the first 2 being the Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 we’re expecting, and the third potentially being a tablet or a tablet-like phone.

There’s still not much to know about these phones, but it sounds like anyone choosing to stick with Google this year for the second take on their hot new smartphone brand should be at the edge of the technological curve.
