More and more devices are being announced which feature the Snapdragon 835 SoC and Sharp is the latest OEM to enter the fray. Although Sharp isn’t the most popular brand in the States, but that may change with the new Sharp Aquos R.
Other than featuring the Snapdragon 835, the Aquos R will also include a 5.3-inch WQHD display, along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. With cameras becoming more and more important, the Aquos R will feature a 16.3MP selfie camera and a 22.6MP rear-facing shooter.
Accompanying the Aquos R will be a 3,160mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 capabilities via the USB Type-C charging port. As for the software, Sharp is taking advantage of Android 7.1 Nougat, although it will be a slightly modified version with Sharp’s own UI.
Pricing and availability information was not shared regarding the Aquos R, other than the fact that it will launch sometime this Summer. It’s also unknown whether we’ll see this device in the States, but it would definitely be a welcome addition to the growing market.
