The hardcore Pokemon Go users have been waiting impatiently for the arrival of Legendary Pokemon for months now. However, there may be some good news on the horizon as Niantic’s Asian General Manager, Yoshiji Kawashima, suggested some new events coming as soon as this Summer.
During an interview with K-Tai Watch, Kawashima confirmed there are more events planned for this Summer, while also confirming the release of other in-game mechanics. These mechanics include raids, PvP, and player trading, which are features Pokemon Go players have been asking for since the game burst onto the scene last year.
These claims have been confirmed by those who have torn down the latest version of Pokemon Go which finds mentions of raids within the game’s code:
- “{0} lost a battle!”
- “{0} was defeated in battle!”
- “{0} fainted at the Gym!”
- “{0} is back after a hard battle!”
- “{0} was forced off the Gym!”
- “{0} has fought hard and returned!”
- “{0} is hungry!”
- “{0} needs a pick-me-up!”
- “{0} wants a berry!
- “{0} was victorious in battle!”
- “{0} has triumphed over your opponents!”
- “{0} defended the Gym!”
- “There’s a raid about to start near you!”
- “A raid’s going to start nearby!”
- “Nearby raid starting soon!”
It’s likely that the Legendary Pokemon will arrive in one of Niantic’s upcoming events. The company has also confirmed it is working with local governments to let them know when these events will be occurring so that plans can be made.
