Galaxy Note 7 might still have more users than OnePlus 3T and LG V20 combined
Well, this is some interesting data. Apteligent’s latest report aims to show either one of two things:
- The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 was massively popular. Or…
- The LG V20 and OnePlus 3T are utter failures.
We can’t be sure which without hard numbers, but here’s some telling evidence: there are still more people using Samsung Galaxy Note 7 devices than there are OnePlus 3T and LG V20 users. Combined.
Apteligent shares a graph that shows device usage for 2nd half flagships, and the Note 7’s clearly spikes on its August 19th launch date and seems to grow even higher nearly a month after that.
Right around October 13th is when the second, non-optional recalls start, and you can see it tanks very, very fast. But through December 11th, it still hasn’t tanked so low that it is being used less than the OnePlus 3T and LG V20. This is incredible considering Samsung has already reclaimed 94% of devices worldwide.
We’re not so surprised the OnePlus 3T is trailing below it considering OnePlus has more of a cult following and their marketing doesn’t extend far past online word-of-mouth, at least as far as the US and Europe are concerned. They aren’t on any carrier store shelves for most people to even know it exists.
The LG V20, on the other hand, is a pretty high profile launch with availability almost everywhere. It, too, had a pretty recent launch, so we’ll give it a quick pass as they looked to drum up some momentum.
Still, it’s hard to ignore just how quickly the Note 7 skyrocketed to dominance and is still lingering on after Samsung has practically begged everyone to send it back. We’re sure that’ll change once they literally start forcing devices not to work.
