Back in August at IFA 2016, Lenovo was quite busy as the company unveiled the Moto Z Play and Hasselblad True Zoom Moto Mod. However, that wasn’t all that was unveiled as the company showed off a new Android tablet with the feel of a traditional notebook.
The Lenovo Yoga Book is a 10.1-inch tablet but features a unique keyboard which doubles as a notebook. This means that you could use the included stylus pen and write on it like an old-fashioned notebook, with your entries being shown on the display.
Thanks to the folks at Laptop Mag, we now know Lenovo plans to expand the Yoga Book to include a Chrome OS version. Currently, the Yoga Book is offered in a Windows 10 variant, as well as the Android version, but plans to expand to Chrome OS sometime next year.
During an interview with Laptop Mag, Jeff Meredith, VP and General Manager of Lenovo’s Android and Chrome Computing Business Group, confirmed the rumors on a Chrome OS device. The new Yoga Book will still include the aforementioned capacitive keyboard, allowing users to write or draw on the keyboard side, while everything shows up on the display.
The problem with the Yoga Book currently, is its limited availability, as you can only purchase the device from Walmart. However, it was also confirmed that Lenovo plans to expand to more retailers once 2017 arrives.
