Cortana was released for Android users back in 2015 and was met with a bit of fanfare, but other than that, Microsoft’s personal assistant has been flying under the radar. The app looks to be your personal assistant on both iOS and Android but falls in many categories that we’ve grown accustomed to with the help of Google Now.
We’ve created a more simplified look and feel for the apps, designed with your mobile life in mind. Now you can get to what you need faster and easier than ever before with quick actions, putting the most frequent things you do front and center, so setting a reminder or viewing your reminders is just a tap away when you don’t want to use voice.
Microsoft has recognized this and has pushed an update to the mobile application which aims to make things a bit easier. The biggest change is the complete redesign that has come to the Cortana Android application. The company has simplified much of the interface and made different options easier to access.
The update also marks the launch of Cortana in the UK, despite being available in the States for over a year. All in all, it’s great to see Microsoft continuing to commit to Cortana but we hope there is something in the works to improve the usability of the application so that there is a legitimate Google Now competitor available.
The update for Cortana is now live, and you can head over to the Play Store to download it via the button below. Let us know what you think about Cortana and check out how the personal assistant stands up against the likes of Google Now in this head-to-head comparison.
