The latest Samsung Galaxy S8 news comes to us via Bloomberg, stating that Samsung’s upcoming 2017 flagship smartphone will use a bezel-less display with an embedded virtual home button. While this information isn’t technically new, the fact Bloomberg has received this information directly from “people with direct knowledge of the matter” makes the claim a lot more credible than previous reports.
Previous rumors have stated that the virtual home button embedded in the edge-to-edge display would also incorporate a fingerprint sensor. The curved display is also rumored to wrap around the front of the phone on all four edges rather than the two side edges as we’ve already seen with the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge and other devices from Samsung.
While the Samsung Galaxy S8’s retail launch was originally expected for March, Bloomberg’s sources say that Samsung has moved the date back into April. Due to global recall and discontinuation of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, Samsung will be applying tougher testing procedures to its 2017 flagship smartphone.
