Earlier this month OnePlus announced that it would be pushing the latest version of OxygenOS to the OnePlus 3 by the end of the year. This update is the biggest of the year as it brings Android Nougat to the OnePlus 3.
As of today, the update is finally here, but there are a few caveats. First and foremost, it’s important to remember that this is an open beta, meaning that not all of bugs are worked out yet.
Changelog:
- Upgraded to Android 7.0 Nougat
- New Notifications Design
- New Settings Menu Design
- Multi-Window View
- Notification Direct Reply
- Custom DPI Support
- Added Status Bar Icon Options
- Added Quick Launch For 3rd Party Applications
- Improved Shelf Customization
Speaking in regards to the bugs, OnePlus has listed the problems that they know are causing issues with this build of OxygenOS.
Known Issues:
- Android Pay may not work correctly
- Some stability/performance issues
- After upgrading to Android N, you will not be able to directly downgrade back to M builds. Our customer service team has a special build of Android M that will allow you to downgrade, but this will format your device. If you’d like to flash back to M, please contact Customer Support.
Regardless, if you want to take a chance on getting Nougat on your OnePlus 3 today, you can head over to the OnePlus Forums and download the update now. If you decide to take the plunge and get the latest version of OxygenOS with Android Nougat on your device, let us know how things are running for you.
