Chromecast Featured ready to cast

Google Cast is now known as “Chromecast Built-In”

Google can’t seem to decide on a name for casting. It started as simply “Chromecast” with the launch of the popular $35 device. The device stayed “Chromecast,” but the technology behind it was changed to “Google Cast.” Now, Google has changed the name again. This time it’s “Chromecast Built-In.”

“Chromecast Built-In” is the name for the tech that allows you to cast things to TVs and speakers. The name change was announced on Twitter along with a new name for the account. It does make a lot more sense this way. Chromecast is the device everyone knows and loves. Now you simply buy a device with the Chromecast built-in. Makes sense.
