Best Daydream VR Apps

Daydream VR turns your phone into a virtual theater, but the “performance” is fully dependent on what’s on the stage, and with VR headsets it’s all about the apps . Thankfully, there is a decent selection of apps for the Daydream View available at launch. YouTube and Street View are two that will keep people interested for the long haul. More will be coming before the end of this year. Here are the best you can expect to start with.

YouTube

Watch like never before, and experience the videos you know and love as well as new immersive 360-degree content for virtual reality. The YouTube app for Daydream is a much more fully fleshed out experience than you’ve seen in Google Cardboard. [Free]

Street View

Visit over 70 countries and experience 150 handcrafted tours of the world’s most amazing places. Use the remote to move along streets and travel the world from the comfort of your own home. [Free]

Google Photos

Relive memories by stepping inside your VR photos and panoramas. The best way to experience the photos in VR is to use the Google Camera or Cardboard Camera apps for capture, then you’ll be able to see VR photos and panoramas you’ve taken in Google Photos in VR. [Free]

Google Arts & Culture

View artworks curated by museums from around the world, zoom-in to see extraordinary detail, and listen to audio guides of masterpieces. [Free]
