Google Pixel, LG V20 cameras are among the elites
It’s 2016, and if your smartphone doesn’t have a competent camera then you’re just asking to get flogged by pundits, reviewers, and users everywhere. Thankfully, some of the late-year options don’t simply settle for competency — they’re probably some of the best of the bunch.
The Google Pixel and Pixel XL are especially notable because of phones that they have nothing to do with. We’re talking about the Nexus line, of course, which — up to the Nexus 6P — always left a lot to be desired in that department.
But as we all know, Google had 100% say in the development of these new Pixel phones, and the care they took to ensure the camera experience on both these days shines through the moment you snap your first photo on them.
And then there’s the LG V20, which we expected to be a top contender by default. LG has found themselves taking a bit of a backseat to stiffened competition in recent years, but their penchant for providing accurate color representation, sharpness, and decent lowlight performance in their cameras has persisted throughout the years.
The unique dual-rear setup on the V20 — and its older brother G5 — also does well to give your more versatility in composing your shots.
That said, both these families of phones have a lot to contend with, including the tall task of knocking Samsung off the pedestal they’ve been standing on for almost all of 2016. Do they have the chops to pull it off? Find out at the jump!
