Twitter might save Vine by selling it instead of killing it
Last month Twitter shocked the tech community when it announced it planned to shut down its short form video service, Vine. Now according to TechCrunch, the social media giant has received multiple offers from companies who are interested in purchasing the video service. Several of the bids are rumored to have come from Asia.
The names of companies involved in placing bids for Vine couldn’t be confirmed, but one of the rumored interested parties was Japanese messaging service LINE.
Twitter’s original announcement for the fate of Vine said that it would shut down the service, but keep the archive of Vines playable and online to allow users to download their content. Beyond that, the company hasn’t expressed any thoughts about the future of the app which could be because there are buyers in line to take over the reigns.
