Samsung runs a full-page apology ad for the Galaxy Note 7 recall

Samsung is still not done with the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 fiasco. They have essentially made it impossible to use the device, which should force any hold-outs to finally turn them in. Samsung has turned their attention to making things right and apologizing. The following letter appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and The Washington Post this week.

In brief, Samsung says they fell short on their promise to offer “best-in-class safety and quality.” They go on to say that they will closely examine the situation so it never happens again. The letter closes with ” we are truly sorry.” Apologies from giant companies are weird. We think of them as faceless corporations, but there are real people behind the scenes. This letter is from Gregory Lee, the CEO of Samsung North America.

Samsung has a lot of bridges to mend. This letter is a good starting point, but not everyone reads the newspaper these days. They will have to continue to make things right.
