LG had the first phone on the market to ship with Android 7.0 Nougat, so naturally they’re one of the first to start rollouts for existing phones. The company has announced that Nougat is now seeding to LG G5 users.
A catch? Of course there’s a catch. This thing is only going out in South Korea for now, though that’s often the standard with LG. The company has said that we should expect it to hit the Asias and Americas in a matter of “weeks,” but we obviously can’t know if those weeks are going to actually be months.
In any case, it’s here, and it’s going to be sweet. LG didn’t make a ton of changes on their own end, but they do fully support the new In Apps search feature, as well as multi-window support, direct reply to notifications, and most other Nougaty goodness. We’ll let you know when this update starts hitting other markets.
