With the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 no longer in play, Samsung’s software priorities have shifted for the time being — it’s time to get the lone surviving flagship duo up and running on Android 7.0 Nougat. We are, of course, talking about the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge.
Samsung seems to be quite far along in their upgrade process as the company is now ready to start dishing out beta updates. We already know folks in the UK will be seeing some fun soon, but new support documents confirm that those in the US will also be able to try it out.
In fact, we even have an idea on the date it’ll begin and the carriers who will be participating, with Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon all said to be putting their names into the fold starting November 11th. Samsung expects the period to last through mid-December (which presumably and hopefully means that’s when a stable rollout can begin), but not without warning that the date may potentially slip.
Anyway, if you want to be sure you’re in then all you’ll need to do is head to the Samsung Galaxy Apps Store on your phone and search for the Galaxy Beta Program app. Enter all required details there and, if you’re lucky, you’ll be selected to participate in the beta once it starts rolling out.
Samsung’s FAQ document on the ordeal answers a wealth of other questions, including your options for opting out, how to send feedback (an important task people!) and more. Be sure to take a gander to make sure you know everything you need to.
