Google going all out with Fantastic Beast easter eggs

JK Rowling’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is heading to theaters soon and Google is celebrating with some interesting easter eggs embedded throughout its ecosystem. If you’re unfamiliar with the movie, it’s based on JK Rowling’s book of the same name, which follows the adventures of magizoologist Newt Scamander and his adventures in New York in 1926.

In order to be a wizard just like Newt, Google has enabled a few “wizarding” commands that work in Google Now. Just say, “Okay, Google” followed by either “Lumos” to turn your flashlight on, or “Nox” to turn your flashlight off. “Silencio” also works to silence your ringer and notifications.

Google is also bringing the world of the film to life through Google Street View. You can visit New York in 1926 as seen in the film, as well as view all the real locations today as they looked in 1926. Several locations in the film will be available including the Magical Congress of the USA, Steen National Bank, The Blind Pig, and the magical apartment of Tina and Queenie Goldstein.
