Huawei has been making waves all year long and its latest devices look to do the same. Last week we saw rumors surrounding the upcoming Huawei Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro (and its ridiculous pricing), but no indication as to when Huawei was planning to unveil these devices.
Things have changed a bit as Huawei has started sending out invitations to an event next week on November 3rd. The invitation says nothing more than “A Step Ahead” and shows what appears to be an outline of a car. Sure, Huawei could surprise everyone and show off a car, since that’s the cool thing to do now, but I would rather stick with the idea that whatever is being shown off will be fast.
As a reminder, the Huawei Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro are expected to include 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and the latest Kirin 960 Processor. Both the Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro will measure in at 5.9-inches while the Pro will feature 256GB of storage. Both devices are also expected to integrate a 4x optical zoom and a dual-lens camera setup similar to the one that was included on the Huawei P9.
Huawei’s event is next week, so let’s wait and see if the company actually lists the Huawei Mate 9 Pro at $1,300, or if that was just a bogus rumor.
