Google’s Android Wear devices are rumored to launch in Q1 of 2017

The recent news about Android Wear has been pretty grim. First, we heard that Huawei, LG, and Motorola have no plans to release new smartwatches this year. Then Android Wear 2.0 got delayed until 2017. We’re in need of some positive news. Thanks to the infamous Twitter leaker, Evan Blass (@evleaks), we have some new info about Google’s own smartwatches.

Back in July, we wrote about a couple or rumors regarding Google’s own Android Wear devices. Like the Pixel and Pixel XL, these devices would be made in-house by Google. We haven’t heard much since those initial rumors, but now Evan Blass is back with more information.

Google’s two smartwatches will be released with Android Wear 2.0 in Q1 2017

It would make a lot of sense for Google to introduce new devices with the launch of the Android Wear 2.0 update. There isn’t a lot of information about these watches right now. We know there will be two different sizes and they will have Google Assistant baked in. The bigger watch is said to be able to work without a phone. That’s really all we know right now.
