Google is always working on new things and they want us to test these new options and features, which is why you can opt into the beta program for many applications. The latest update that seems to be slowly rolling out makes the persistent search bar at the top of the Google Now Launcher homescreen a bit more useful.

A few users have sent in some screenshots that show a second widget below the search bar which shows off different pieces of information. The users claim to be using the latest version of the Google beta application and adds a transparent widget to your home screen. The information here varies, as one user found weather information, while the other user was presented with travel information.
We here at Phandroid have yet to see this new widget make an appearance, so it’s more than likely a server-side switch that needs to be flipped. However, you can head over to the Play Store and make sure you have the latest version of the app by clicking the link below. Let us know in the comments if you are presented with this new feature and if it’s working for you.
