The tech community has been waiting with bated breath as the #madebygoogle event date drew closer, but now that everything is finally out from under the sheets, we want to know if you liked what you saw.
Google spent a lot of time hyping up their Google Assistant during the first half of the event and while it’s handy to some extent that it’s now built into the phone, it’s really nothing we haven’t already seen with Google Now. It’s an iterative improvement on that front.
The design has been pretty divisive among techies too, since some have professed to hate it since the earliest leaks showed the phone’s HTC origins. What about that Really Blue color? Google hit the nail on the head with that name, because that is really, really blue.
The price is a bit steep here over the previous Nexus line, but Google has added some value. There’s 24/7 on demand support available either via phone or chat and it features screen share so you can show the agent on the other end what’s up. Pixel phones also get unlimited Google Photos storage at the original full resolution, which could save you a bundle if you’re a photographer.
What do you think of the phones? Will you be getting one? Which size? Which color? Hate them all? Let us know in the comments!
