If you’ve been looking for an easier way to sell and buy used items from folks in your community, Facebook now has an option for you. Facebook Marketplace has just been introduced and allows anyone to list items for sale, then provides an easy method of communication to make sure that everything is on the up and up.
This is essentially Facebook’s answer to Craigslist and has been rumored for some time, but had yet to be actually released until today. Additionally, Marketplace will make it easier to sniff out the scammers out there who try to take advantage of others.
To help people make more of these connections, today we’re introducing Marketplace, a convenient destination to discover, buy and sell items with people in your community. Marketplace makes it easy to find new things you’ll love, and find a new home for the things you’re ready part with. We’ll continue to build new options and features to make this the best experience for people.
The first countries to see Marketplace include the US, UK, Austrailia, and New Zealand, with other regions gaining support “in the coming months”. Facebook Marketplace is rolling out today over the next few days and will be accessible from your mobile device.
