Samsung Pay celebrates 1-year anniversary with coupon support and $100,000 in prizes

0

Samsung Pay turns 1 in the US today! Samsung was quite proud of that fact, with the company also parroting a figure of support for over 500 banks. It’s grown rather quickly, and they’ll want to keep that momentum up heading into the next turn of the calendar year.

So, they celebrated by adding new features to Samsung Pay. For starters, Samsung has teamed up with Quotient to provide a digital coupon system. Users can search for coupons and save them for quick access the next time they go shopping. This means it also supports membership and loyalty cards from any Quotient-partnered retailers. When you check out, your applicable coupons are automatically applied when you use Samsung Pay. Samsung is also adding the ability to restore your cards when you sign in on a new device.

Beyond that, Samsung is also giving away $100,000 in prizes. They’re giving away 1 Samsung Gear S2 smartwatch for each day in the year — that’s 365 of them, in case you didn’t know. To enter, you’ll have to Tweet a celebratory message over to Samsung with the hashtags #SamsungPay and #Sweepstakes. You’ll also need to be following @SamsungPayUS, and have your Twitter DMs open to the public in case they need to contact you. Samsung will start drawing winners around September 30th, so you’ll want to act fast.

How has your year with Samsung Pay been? Is the ability to pay for your purchases at almost any terminal a killer feature for you or have you gotten along just fine with your age-old plastic cards? Let us now straight ahead!
