The Alcatel Pixi 4 Plus Power with 5,000mAh battery is what Pokémon GO dreams are made of

After recently launching the Idol 4S (you can check out our full review here), Alcatel is showing no signs of slowing down. Today, the company posted on their website a colorful new Android device dubbed the Alcatel Pixi 4 Plus Power. The phone looks to be going head-to-head against other affordably priced endurance-focused smartphones like the $300 Blu Energy XL.

However, where the Blu Energy XL offers a premium aluminum build, the Pixi 4 Plus Power — and its massive 5,000mAh battery — seem to be going for a more youthful, colorful look. The phone features an array of brightly colored back covers and to ensure you never forget about the 2-day battery life the phone is allegedly capable of, a matching “5,000mAh” banding can be found on the front.

Unfortunately, it seems that’s where the fun ends. On paper, the specs are on the (very) low-end, with a 5.5-inch 720p display, 8GB of internal storage, 1GB of RAM, and a complete lack of 4G LTE. But hey, you can always use it as a smart power bank to juice up your other devices. Other hardware specs include the following:

Additional features:

Although pricing and availability isn’t mentioned anywhere on the site, we’re guessing it will extremely affordably priced (especially considering the low-end hardware). Still, if you’re looking for a budget smartphone exclusively for playing Pokemon Go (because you wont be able to install much else on it), you could certainly do a whole lot worse.
