Samsung rushed Galaxy Note 7 release to compete with iPhone 7
Bloomberg is reporting that sources close to Samsung have stated that the company’s rush to get the Galaxy Note 7 out ahead of the iPhone 7 may have caused the battery issues that have resulted in a worldwide recall of the Galaxy Note 7.
Executives at Samsung realized that the iPhone 7 wouldn’t be as innovative as previous iPhone releases, according to rumors. They saw this as an opportunity to press their advantage with the Note 7, which led to the decision to rush production on the device. Samsung moved up the unveiling by 10 days and because of that, there was a rush to get the phone finished on time leading to the battery issues we have today.
This Galaxy Note 7 recall has led to a steep decline in Samsung’s stock value, which seems to be recovering after the initial recall announcement.
