So it appears as though those earlier rumors surrounding the Nexus Sailfish (Pixel) and Nexus Marlin (Pixel XL) being available on Verizon, are proving to be true. Both the folks at Droid Life and Android Police received a tip that suggests the Pixel devices will be coming to Verizon exclusively.

There’s a very outside chance that Verizon would be the only place to get the Pixel and Pixel XL, but we wouldn’t hold our breath on that one. It would be extremely unlikely that Google would release its latest devices without making them available on their own online store. Regardless, if Verizon is the only carrier to provide the Pixel and Pixel XL, let’s hope that this release won’t be like that of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

On top of that, David from Android Police is reporting that the base model 32GB Pixel device will be priced at $649 in the US. When comparing this to the Nexus 5X which is the smaller of the two 2015 Nexus devices, the base pricing for that device started at $429, with the Nexus 6P starting at $499. If this rumor comes true, then this would put the Pixel devices on par with devices such as the iPhone 7 or Samsung Galaxy S7 which is a bit over the top.
The Pixel and Pixel XL are expected to be unveiled at an event on October 4th, where Google is also expected to show off a new 4K-capable Chromecast, the Google Home, and the company’s Daydream Viewer.
