Google Trips finally launches for Android

After hearing about a new trip organizer app in the works by Google way back in April, word on their efforts went pretty quiet. Well, that doesn’t mean they weren’t still working on it — say hello to Google Trips!

As we learned back in earlier leaks, Google Trips aims to make your vacation or travel a pleasant experience. It starts by automatically (and optionally) lifting travel details — like your hotel and flight details — from your email.

Once it knows where you’re going, it helps you find the best spots for fun, food, and sight-seeing in whichever city you’re visiting. It also offers information on travel options in the area in case you don’t want to rent a car or taxi everywhere.

Once you figure out what you want to do, you can set your day plans so all of the places you plan to visit are easily accessible. All of it is unavailable offline, too, in case you don’t have a connection where you’re going (or simply don’t want to shell out for pricey international data plans). As you’d expect from any Google app, it’s a free download over at Google Play.
