Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy A9 Pro, and for its sub-$500 price point it tries to teeter that fine line of flagship and ordinarily functional smartphone. Here’s what you’re getting in the package:
To be honest, all seems quite nice aside from a potentially weak Snapdragon 652 chipset. That said, we can’t help but mention the elephant in the room, and it’s one elephant we can’t quit talking about: you can spend less than $400 and get an even more compelling package than what Samsung is offering today.
That said, we’re not so sure Samsung cares at this point. They do have the name power, after all, and if they were really struggling to sell these smartphones at a premium, we imagine they wouldn’t keep overshooting the current market trend.
Of course, we have no idea what those sales numbers are looking like, but we suppose it really doesn’t matter. You’ll decide for yourself whether it’s worth the premium at the end of the day, so mull over that when it comes time to buy your next smartphone.
