Lenovo Phab 2 Pro, the world’s first Project Tango device, delayed until this fall

At Lenovo Tech World 2016, the company unveiled the world’s first Project Tango-enabled smartphone, the Lenovo Phab 2 Pro. The unveiling came after a joint announcement at CES 2016 between Lenovo and Google to manufacture the first device to take advantage of the amazing Virtual and Augmented Reality capabilities of Project Tango.

When the Phab 2 Pro was announced, we were told that the device would be released sometime in September but those expectations seem to have changed. Lenovo has updated its landing page for the Phab 2 Pro which now states the device is “Coming This Fall”.

Many folks were excited about the Phab 2 Pro after its initial unveiling, but now that the official release has been pushed back a bit, it’s going to be interesting to see how the market responds. Lenovo will be selling the Phab 2 Pro starting at $499 and will include the following:

We’ll hope to see the Phab 2 Pro in time for the Holiday season, but are you still considering on picking up one of these devices? Sure, it’s cool to be able to do all the AR things with Project Tango, but has Lenovo lost everyone’s attention by delaying the Phab 2 Pro?
