Honor 8 back DSC00650

Huawei sells 1.5 million units of the Honor 8 in just two months

Since the Honor 8’s debut in China in July, more than 1.5 million units of the phone have already made their way into consumers hands. That number is expected to increase significantly over the next few months as Honor recently started selling the phone in Europe and North America. For those who are not aware, the Honor 8 is a cheaper variant of the massively popular Huawei P9 which was introduced in Aril of this year.

Huawei also shared today that its Honor sub-brand sold more than 100 million devices in its first 999 days of existence. Based on how well things have gone so far, we wouldn’t be surprised if those numbers reached 150 million by this time next year. While Huawei has been pushing the Honor brand in China for two and a half years, the Honor 5X was the first device to make its way to US shares. Since all of Huawei’s Honor devices offer incredible value for their price, most devices have sold incredibly well. Selling for $400, the new Honor 8 is double the price of the Honor 5X, but it’s certainly has a lot more to offer than Honor’s entry-level smartphone.

How long do you think it’ll be until Honor is recognizable smartphone brand among general consumers in the US and Europe?
