The LG V20 is a beast when it comes to drop tests [VIDEO]

0

The LG V20 was officially announced yesterday. One of the features that LG talked about a lot was the military grade impact resistance. The V20 has a MIL-STD-810G rating, which means it can be dropped from relatively high and be fine. Android Authority put this to the test.

The first drop was from about 5 feet off the ground directly on the back of the phone. The back cover and battery flew out, but the phone was completely fine. This happened after a few more drops from even higher as well. The battery would fly out, but after being re-inserted the phone was fine.

Lastly, it was time to test the Gorilla Glass display. Dropping the phone face-first didn’t fare quite as well. The glass shattered, but the phone kept working fine. The touchscreen still functioned properly, which means the digitizer didn’t get damaged. You could replace the glass and have a perfectly functional phone.
