The Huawei Mate 9 reportedly will feature a Leica dual-camera setup

Huawei seems to be falling in love with the dual-camera module that was released with its flagship devices, the Huawei P9 and Huawei P9 Plus. The company partnered with Leica to release a new camera module that featured dual 12-megapixel sensors which combined color images and monochrome images into one single output.

According to GizmoChina, there has been a post on Weibo which suggests Huawei will be bringing back the same camera module in the upcoming Huawei Mate 9. This camera module impressed Nick during his review of the Huawei P9 due to its excellent low-light pictures even if there is a “fair amount of noise in these images.

The device is expected to be unveiled later this year, and there hasn’t been much information leaked about the device just yet. However, we do have an idea that it will include the Kirin 960 processor and 6GB of RAM, making this yet another device to be released with 6GB of RAM. It’s also been stated that the Mate 9 will feature the EMUI 5 overlay on top of Android 7.0 Nougat.
