Huawei is back at IFA 2016 with a couple new devices that look fairly similar to something we saw in 2015. The Huawei Nova and Huawei Nova Plus are two budget devices that feature similar specs, but offer two different designs at the same time.
At first glance, you’ll notice that the Huawei Nova looks like the Nexus 6P which was manufactured by Huawei for Nexus lovers last year. The camera bump is back and the fingerprint sensor is nestled in the center below the bump.
Huawei Nova | Huawei Nova Plus | |
Display | 5.0″ 1080p HD | 5.5″ 1080p HD |
Processor | Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 | Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 |
RAM | 3GB | 3GB |
Storage | 32GB expandable via MicroSD | 32GB expandable via MicroSD |
Front Camera | 8MP | 8MP |
Rear Camera | 12MP | 16MP |
Battery | 3,020mAh | 3,340mAh |
Charging | USB Type-C | USB Type-C |
Both devices feature USB Type-C charging capabilities, a Snapdragon 825 processor, and 3GB of RAM, but that’s where the similarities end. The Nova Plus took design queues from the Huawei Mate lineup of devices with no camera bump on the rear, and a squared fingerprint sensor in lieu of the rounded one found on the smaller Nova. The Nova Plus also features a 5.5-inch display and will include a 16MP camera, as well as 3,340mAh battery compared to the 5-inch display and 3,020mAh battery found in the Nova.
These are definitely some of the best-looking devices to come out of IFA 2016 so far, even if the Nova looks a lot like the Nexus 6P. Huawei is planning to release the Nova and Nova Plus sometime in October while being priced at €399 and €429, respectively. Let us know what you think about these devices in the comments below.
