Who says radio is dead? Well, it technically was dead inside Verizon’s Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge as its radio wasn’t available for use. That changes in today’s software upgrade heading out to both devices, though.
Once applied, you’ll need to download a radio app like NextRadio in order to use the functionality. Also coming along for the ride are improvements to HD voice calling, with Verizon noting that the frequency of drops should be reduced after you have the update.
All of this is coming to you as version VRUAPG5 on both phones. To check for it, head to Settings > System Updates with a decent charge and connection to ensure nothing goes wrong.
