Remember back in February when Sony released their vision for the future of communication? Some of the products were run of the mill, and some of the others could be taken straight out of a James Bond flick.
One thing they all had in common, though, was that they were prototypes and concepts, at best. Well, that is no longer true for the Xperia Ear, which Sony has confirmed will launch this November.
The Sony Xperia Ear is a simple headset that can read notifications, messages, news updates, and weather to you. You can also give it commands to get information you want or need whenever you want it. The premise of that concept is hardly new — it’s what you can already do on your phone, only all of it is fed right to your ear.
It’s neat, and it’s understandable why it’s the first of these “concepts” to make it out to market, but it’s hardly anything revolutionary. We suppose it’d be a nice device for a fan of espionage-esque technology to have, but if you really wanted to you could take any old headset and do this stuff right now.
