The Samsung Galaxy Folder was a rather interesting device. It was the continuation of a line of flip phones which were much smarter than other devices which shared its form factor. While it wasn’t the first Samsung flip phone to run Android — the Galaxy Golden series takes that honor — it did bring in the new era that helped us realized these phones don’t have to suck.
Will the Galaxy Folder 2 continue along those lines? The device just had its official press shots leaked, and the specs we’re hearing make it sound like a very capable device:
- 3.8-inch display
- 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset
- 2GB of RAM and 8GB of storage
- 8-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera
- 2,000mAh battery
- Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow
Of course, a phone like this doesn’t really need flashy specs and features to entice anyone. After all, it’s a niche offering aimed at folks in Asia (primarily China) where these things still remain really popular. For those who are part of that crowd, this is shaping up to be a fine sequel to the original, so keep your eyes peeled for more details on its forthcoming availability.
