Google opens up its Early Access program to everyone

If you’re like us here at Phandroid and like being on the cutting edge of everything Android, then you’ve probably already heard about the ‘Early Access’ section that can be found on the Play Store. If you haven’t, Early Access is one of the features that was added to the Play Store in an effort to give developers a bit more feedback on their applications before being officially launched to everyone.

Google is opening up its ‘Early Access’ program to all developers with a bit of a catch: your apps will still need to be approved. This just means that you can’t go ahead and submit all your applications and see them on the Play Store as they will have to be reviewed by Google before being accepted.

Previously, the ‘Early Access’ program was made available to just 29 partners which Google eventually expanded by hand-picking new partners and apps to be featured. With this new change, we can hope to see easier access to new apps that have been in the works or that you didn’t know about.
