The Lenovo Yoga Book tablet can be used like an actual notebook

Lenovo today announced their latest tablet. It’s the Lenovo Yoga Book, a 2-in-1 device that functions as a tablet when you need it, and for those times you need to be more productive the “cover” illuminates with a keyboard for you to type on.

The Yoga Book features a “Real Pen” stylus — it can be used to write on your tablet or ordinary paper. The idea is that you write on ordinary paper to get a more natural surface to annotate, take notes, draw, or whatever it is you need it for. Once you’re done, those writings and drawings are automatically imported to the tablet as a digital file for easy storage and transfer.

The device’s pen has to be refilled with special ink cartridges and paper after time (the tablet comes with a bit in the box to start), but if you feel like writing with a stylus on a display isn’t natural enough then this could be your dream device.

For others, it’s more novelty than killer, but it’s cool all the same. Here’s what to expect when it comes to the device’s inner workings:

Look out for it to hit store shelves later this year.
