Uber has sparked up a nice new promotion. Local Offers, as it’s called, is like a credit card rewards system. In fact, it’s exactly like that considering it can only currently be taken advantage of by Visa credit card users.
The skinny of it is that Uber will give you 1 point per $1 you spend at participating locations like restaurants. 100 points = $10 that you can get off your next Uber ride. It’s not a ton, and for some of these restaurants you’d have to visit an awful lot (or perhaps just eat like a madman) in order to get those 100 points, but it’s better than nothing.
Los Angeles and San Francisco residents are first at bat for the new feature, and participating restaurants will differ depending on which exact city you’re in. Here’s the quick rundown:

To get rewards, make sure you have the latest version of the Uber app, and make sure that the Visa card you’re using at the restaurants is the same one that is tied to your Uber account. From there, eat up and watch those rewards rack up, and stay tuned for more businesses and cities to be added at some point down the line.
