SwiftKey prides itself on a robust and deep prediction engine. It’s proven itself to be quite great over the years with many people still considering SwiftKey the top keyboard app you can have on a smartphone.
But even the greatest apps can have glitches. An issue with the keyboard’s sync feature caused personal email and phone number predictions to be mixed up with other users’. Someone might start typing in a phone number or email address only to find that the prediction doesn’t match anything they’ve ever typed.
Well, that’s all fixed now. After a brief shutdown of the sync service and a fix being sent out to beta users, SwiftKey has pushed a final fix for the issue to the stable version of the app. We’re not out of the waters yet, though, as the company notes that while the feature has returned, they have deleted all predictions for email addresses, phone numbers, and @ mentions (such as for Twitter accounts).
As such, you’ll have to retrain your keyboard to predict those types of phrases, but that’s no worry — SwiftKey takes care of all that heavy lifting for you. Grab the upgraded app from Google Play right here.
