Stress tests — also known as torture tests — are a fun way to push a device to its limits, even if it isn’t all that practical. For instance, when a phone like the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 touts its water resistance, you could submerge the phone in a bowl or water and it will probably come out just fine. Cool. That’s what was supposed to happen. But what if you submerged the phone in your favorite fizzy cola drink? What if you were to then freeze the phone to sub zero temperatures overnight? Would it still come out ticking? Don’t ask why, just watch.
For those that didn’t want to sit through the 11+ minute long video, we’ll just go ahead and spoil it for you: the Note 7 emerges from the frozen slush unscathed and works without a hitch. Sure it’ll be a little sticky, but a dip in boiling hot Windex should take car of that. Maybe in the next video.
Now, we don’t recommend any of you try this at home, but at least you know matter how hard you party, whatever liquid you happen to drop the phone into — or if you accidentally leave it in the freezer overnight (it happens to everyone) — you can rest assured the Note 7 will still function properly.
