This new Huawei phone looks a lot like a Nexus 6P

Heads-up: a new Huawei phone has hit the TENAA. It’s believed to be the forthcoming  Mate S2, with the Chinese regulatory listing exposing the following internals:

That’s all very exciting, but more interesting is how it looks: we’d mistake the rear side of this thing for a Nexus 6P if we weren’t looking close enough. Of course, we can see the minute differences in design quirks, such as the lack of a dip on the camera module, so we aren’t fooled. (And the front’s lack of dual speakers certainly drives that point home.)

The question is: could this be a sign of things to come for the supposed Huawei-made Nexus 6P refresh that was once rumored to be launching this year? We obviously can’t say for sure considering the status of that launch is still in the air. Regardless, Huawei seems keen on drawing inspiration from that design, something that’s not at all a bad idea considering many folks were dazzled by it on yesteryear’s premium Nexus option.
